Data Sources

CT Boat Services aggregates publicly available business information to build a comprehensive directory of marine service providers across Connecticut. Initial listings are compiled from public records, industry directories, and verified business information.

Phone & Website Verification

Every phone number and website URL is checked before being displayed publicly. Where a phone number could not be confirmed, we suppress it entirely and flag the listing for internal review rather than show potentially incorrect contact information. Similarly, a website link is only displayed when a valid business website has been supplied and is reachable.

What We Never Invent

CT Boat Services does not fabricate any business information. We never create or infer:

• Star ratings or review scores
• Customer reviews or testimonials
• Street addresses or precise locations beyond what is confirmed
• Pricing, availability, or hours of operation
• Certifications, awards, or manufacturer authorizations
• Service capabilities or equipment that hasn't been verified

Reporting Errors

Every business listing includes a "Report Incorrect Information" link. Reports are reviewed by our team and used to correct or update listings. We take accuracy seriously — if something is wrong, we want to know about it.

Business Claims

Business owners can claim their free listing through a verification process. We verify ownership through business-domain email confirmation or manual review before granting editing access. This ensures only authorized representatives can modify a business profile.

Ongoing Maintenance

Our directory is actively maintained. We periodically review listings for outdated information, process user-submitted corrections, and verify that contact details remain current. Claimed listings benefit from direct business-owner input, which helps keep information fresh.
